One day Trip to Mekedatu from Bangalore with Friends and Family

The road to Mekedatu takes you through the rough and ready villages of the interior Karnataka, makes it an unforgettable road trip experience with your loved ones. You must first head towards Sangama and make your way to Mekedatu. The Road trip to Mekedatu Sangam from the Bangalore City takes about 3hrs (99.3 km) via NH948 and Kanakapura-Sangam Road. The picturesque surroundings of Mekedatu and lush green foliage are great at calming your mind, body and soul.

The View of Mekedatu - River Kaveri

Mekedatu' refers to a 'goat's leap' in Kannada. It is believed that, a goat ran across the river Kaveri to save itself from a Tiger's chase and hence the name. Another mythological story that revolves around Mekedatu, tells us about Lord shiva who took the form of a goat and left his footprints on those hard granite rocks as tiny holes.

The routes to the destination are mind-boggling. If you're planning on a one-day outing, don't wait any longer. Let yourselves be immersed in nature. The last thing you want is to miss that.
